Two Terra

Today is one of those days where we reach a real milestone in technology. Western Digital have reached and is now shipping 2TB drives. 2000 gigabytes on a single drive, that’s sure is a lot of data. Great for NAS storage boxes which could now hit 8 and even 10TB with a 4 or 5 bay model.

The surprising thing is that these aren’t hideously expensive. The drive is selling for AU$ 377.80 on mwave.com.au. Sure it’s a premium over buying 2 x 1TB drives, but that’s pretty common.

That sure is a lot of data to loose if the drive dies, so maybe best to grab 2.
