If you own one of the following Blu-ray player models – Sony BDP-S300, Sony BDP-S500, Sony BDP-S1E, Samsung BDP-1000, Samsung BDP-1400, Sharp BDHP20X, Panasonic DMP-BD10, Panasonic DMP-BD10A, Pioneer BDP-LX70, Pioneer BDP-LX70A, then you can get yourself 5 free Blu-ray movies.

Unfortunately you can only select one from each category below, but there are some good titles available.

Category 1: Casino Royale, Open Season, Ghost Rider, Black Hawk Down, Hitch
Category 2: The Wild, Dinosaur, Sky High
Category 3: Entrapment, Fantastic 4, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Kingdom Of Heaven
Category 4: Rock, Rocky Balboa, Hart’s War
Category 5: Corpse Bride, Blazing Saddles, Superman The Movie

Offer ends 31/01/2008.

This definitely adds another reason for people to opt for Blu-ray over HD-DVD, but perhaps cheaper players would be a better alternative. Both camps still have a long way in expanding their list of available titles.

    Hi,
I bought a Sharp Bluray disc player on the 8th Dec; and sent off the application for the five bonus discs on Dec; 10th together with the copy of my receipt, since then I have heard nothing. I sent the application to Blu-ray Disc Offer, P.O. Box 479, Moorbank NSW. 1875.
Please advise when I am likely to get my bonus discs.

    Thanks and Best Regards

    John

The promotion is a farce and as organised as a dogs breakfast. . I have been waiting since November and i bet many others are in the same category…It is no coincidence that they dont leave a telephone or email contact poinrt so they dont have to deal with the customers

  • Dan

Agreed, I sent Blu-ray Australia my competition form on 7th Dec, along with my Sharp Bluray serial number and a copy of the orignal receipt… no discs yet :-(
However I sent away for my 3 bonus discs from Sharp and I received them 2 weeks ago.

  • Ratnam

I am also waiting for my 5 dvds.
I bought a sharp player and sent out the form in december.
    Still no reply no dvd
    Is this a scam?

  • gb

Received my 5 discs on the 25 Feb – left on the doorstep. None of the 5 discs were ones I requested. SCAM!

I sent all the required documentation forward to Bluray Australia 9 weeks ago, and was lookng forward to recieving my 5 free bluray movies they said it could take up to 6 weeks to recieve them i have recieved nothing yet. However i have recieved the 3 bluray movies that sharp offered they arrived a few weeks ago. I will let you all know if i recieve my 5 free movies. if not, BAD NEWS TRAVELS FAST

Still waiting, 8 weeks and counting. It does seem a poorly executed promotion.

“The promoter is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment ABN 53 002 489 554″ so I would think they will be the complaint point.

Also “The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the offer with an alternate….” so they can send you different product if they like.

    Shame that.

I just brought a player, which has all the POS on the box still (5 Free Discs + the 3 from Sharp), but when you read the fine print the offer is expired.

Sharp have extended there offer, but I cannot find anywhere that Sony have.

Sharp have a customer care number for anyone who wants to call, and they seem quiet helpful: 1300-135-022
