Woopra 1.3 RC1 released, new features a plenty
With what they say is an almost complete recoding, Woopra have released a brand new version of Woopra – 1.3 RC1.
Woopra no longer requires elevated privileges to run, something that resulted in the annoying UAC prompt in Vista before.
As you can see from the screen shot below, the interface has changed quite a bit.
There’s also a new Calendar view.
For all the information on the new features check out – http://www.woopra.com/blog/2009/03/15/woopra-13-rc1-desktop-application-released/
Woopra update to 1.1.2.1, adds multi-monitor support
New in this version of Woopra, the web analytics application, is multi-monitor support.

Personally I use multiple monitors on all systems I use (laptop excluded). When maximizing the Live Geographic Map in previous versions of Woopra, it would open on an unspecified monitor (sometimes your primary, when you really want it on your 2,3 or 4th display), very happy to see they’ve now added a drop down to select your preferred monitor.

The date selection range in the analytics section has also been updated. Simply resize the highlighted region to adjust your filter, or select from a number of presets from the drop down.
Woopra is still in Private beta, they are increasing numbers, albeit slowly.

Woopra updates from 1.1.0.4 to 1.1.1.0
For those uninitiated, Woopra is a real-time analytics application to monitor your website’s traffic. This morning it received an upgrade.

What’s new:
- New Segmentation tab. This combines the browser and platform statistics and lets you see the most popular. (Visitors to techAU.tv most commonly use Firefox 2 on Windows XP).
- Export to .csv file. You can now export your statistics from the Analytics page to a .csv file, this data can be opened and manipulated in Excel.
- Filter results. Naturally the longer you run Woopra, the more information you’ll have recorded, so you may wish to filter results down to a specific term. At the bottom of most pages on the analytics screen, you’ll find a ‘Filter results’ bar at the bottom. Inserting your filter term here will instantly filter the content above. A nice addition.
That’s mostly it from what I can tell, if you run Woopra and have noticed any changes I’ve missed, please leave a comment and let me know. Overall some good minor changes, I wouldn’t expect anything mind blowing from a point release, may have to wait till Woopra 2.0 for that.
If your already part of the beta, you can download the new version from http://www.woopra.com/download/
Good growth for techAU.tv, Feb best month yet.

The images above show the traffic stats from techAU in Weeks, Days and Months. These stats are gathered from the WordPress stats application. I also track page visits using AWstats, which also shows strong growth and February being the best month so far.
As I often to, I was checking out the stats for my site http://techAU.tv. I was very happy to see the numbers of views are increasing, particularly in February, they’ve taken a steep turn north.
This is great news considering techAU is coming up on it’s first birthday in March. It’s taken a while, but according to WordPress blog stats, I’m getting close to 2000 views a month. Multiply that out and it’s almost 25,000 visits a year.
AWstats shows the past few days, there’s been around 400 views a day. Multiply that out 400*30 = 12,000 a month, or 144,000 for the year. The difference between the stats applications could be attributed some to search indexers and some to my own visits which WordPress stats don’t include.
Seeing growth like this just spurs me on to continue blogging and increase the quality of every post.
Thanks to all who regularly visit techAU.
