Many CDMA customers have been franticly changing over to new handsets, as Telstra was set to shut down the CDMA network on the 28th of this month (just 10 days away).

Customers have been complaining the new NextG network does not offer the same level of service as CDMA, apparently this was a condition of Telstra being allowed to close CDMA.

As a result the federal government has stepped in and forced Telstra to extend the deadline and prove that consumers will not be disadvantaged by the changeover.

So all of you out there with CDMA handsets that thought you’d soon have a brick on your hands, breath easy for a couple more months.
