MacBook arrives, iPhone dev on the way

This week I decided to bite the bullet and get a MacBook. My first Mac. The main goal in getting a Mac is to develop iPhone Applications, something I have no experience in, but believe the potential outcomes are worth the investing time and money into.

I’ve already signed up to join the iPhone Developer Program and am waiting to be approved. That hasn’t stopped me getting a head start, I downloaded the iPhone 2.2.1 SDK and have been working through the ‘Build your first iPhone app” tutorial.

As a bi-product of now having a Mac, I can now test and review software regardless of the platform. Effectively the same reason I have all the gaming consoles (Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii).

I chose the 2.0GHz Aluminium MacBook and so far I’m really happy with it. I’ll be spending a bit longer with it before doing a full review. Later this year you can expect a Snow Leopard vs Windows 7 comparison.

Wow it is amazing how the iPhone is motivating people to get their hands on a Mac. Snow Leopard Vs Windows 7 comparison will be interesting as they are both getting rave reviews from beta testers.
