They have no compelling reason to reduce the retail price to the end of the line user.. It just means they get to absorb more of the saved cash towards their bottom line.. They only need to offer similar or slightly better than prices than telstra to be competetive.. anyone who does more than the minimum required is just throwing away free money..

The main problem here is telstra, they have such huge market share (along with the other main isps) that it would take all of the non telstra isps reducing their prices for telstra to react, and that's hardly going to happen considering that most all isps sell a telstra product in some way or form..

looks like your right Kyle. Actually as the day's gone on and I've thought some more on it, the new plan allows 10GB extra download for $5 extra a month. A 10GB data block normally costs $15, so it's probably worth it. Still overall the plans aren't as exciting as they should have been. I like many were looking forward to this for months.

Looks like those on the "Plus" products (Telstra Exchange - 8Mbit or 24Mbit) will get their plan changes sometime in the future.

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cf...
