Qantas to allow SMS + Email on domestic flights

If you fly Qantas and have been pained by the longstanding block of mobile phones during flights, then it’s time to stop tormenting that Easter Bunny and start celebrating.
Qantas have been trailing in-flight SMS + email sending for some time now, testing if this would in fact interfere with normal airline operations. Given that Qantas will soon allow everyone who flies Qantas domestic flights to use SMS and Email, I’m assuming the tests passed with flying colours (pun intended 
).
No calls allowed yet.. although do you really want to be sitting next to someone while they discuss their “condition” with their doctor ?
A good move forward for Qantas, I can only hope other airlines will follow suit.. no on to the power for laptops issue… damn techies, we’re never happy.
