Spore Creature Creator now available

Today the much anticipated new gaming title – Spore gave users their first taste of the game with the public release of the creature creator.
While this is labelled a ‘trial’ the Spore creature creator installer certainly has its issues. After downloading the 200+ Mb windows installer, I run it and step through the prompts before getting to the end and receiving the notice that the latest version of Microsoft’s DirectX is required. Rather than launching into the DirectX setup or even linking to the DirectX download location the user is simply left to click the Finish button.
I’ve experienced this next problem on multiple machines and also others confirm they’ve shared the same experience. After the install completes, you naturally search the Start Menu for Spore or even an EA folder… nothing. There is literally no shortcuts created, so if your looking for the application to get this baby running, check out – C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Sporebin\SporeCreatureCreator.exe
I’ve already created my first creature and uploaded it to YouTube, which is supported in the creature creator, as I create more characters, I’ll add them to this post.
