Acer joins the rest, adds Aspire One to ultra-portable laptop category

Acer are also entering the sub-laptop market with the Aspire One. Early details are still sketchy, however it’s believed to feature a 8.9″ screen, running Windows XP (with Service Pack 3 included), 1024×768 display which is a little strange given the screen appears to be widescreen.

Dell entering the Sub-laptop market, takes on Eee PC
Posted Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 5:54 pm by Jason CartwrightGizmodo are reporting Mr Dell himself (Michael) is currently supporting a nice new accessory – A mini Dell Inspiron laptop.
This supports a growing trend for sub-10″ laptops, with multiple companies getting in on the trend. Both Asus with the Eee PC and HP with their Mini-note, already have products in the market.
Specific details are still to be released, so we wait for an official Dell press release on a release date and price. If Dell can get mass production costs low-enough through, could see the mini Inspiron dominate the UMPC market.
