Just received a twitter (tweet) from @uStreamTV who’ve started a campaign to get the creators of twitter to do a Town Hall event (no doubt on uStream.tv).

Previously we’ve seen great insight into the challenges and operations of Digg.com through 2 Town Halls broadcast on uStream. Digg who also responded to the top submitted questions from the community. This type of communication technique also engages the community and provides a platform for registering new ideas and directions for the company.

I think this is a great idea and something @ev @biz should definitely take up. Many users are frustrated (some to the point of leaving) from twitter’s growing pains, in the form of continual service drop outs. If users can learn the reasons why these downtimes occur and what strategies are being developed to overcome these in the future, then users will stick around for the service to evolve and become reliable.

Without a discussion like this, twitter risks users becoming jumpers, looking to other alternatives. With competitive startups happening everyday they need to act fast to reassure the twitter community there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

You can head on over to join the campaign @ http://twittertownhall.com/
