Windows 7 RC

After the Windows 7 beta (build 7000) was released to the public, millions of people have downloaded and tried it out. The next public step in the development of Windows 7 is the Release Candidate.

Discovered last week was a posting on a Microsoft site that indicated the Release Candidate would be available to the public on May 5th, with TechNet and MSDN Subscribers receiving it some time before that.

So with the internal builds maturing any of them could be named as the Release Candidate to mark a milestone in the development.

Reports tonight from NeoWin indicate that lucky little build number to receive the tag is build 7100.

Company insiders and Wzor have confirmed that 7100 is the official Windows 7 RC build.

Those TechNet & MSDN Subscribers should check over the next few days, as it’s sure to be released very shortly.

Personally I’ll be downloading it as soon as it comes out, formatting my machine and installing Windows 7 RC 64-bit.
